Chapter 5 is an expansion and grid-integration project. Its central distinction is installed generation versus live surplus: the objective asks for 100 MW of installed capacity. The farm purchase, station and final utility connection are separate milestones.

Purchase the abandoned farm
Use the rotating purchase marker on the western parcel. The land costs $2.5 million. Acquisition clears and opens the parcel for the expansion.
Complete Energy 3
The mission calls it Energy Systems III: High-Voltage Grid Integration. Finish Energy Systems II and upgrade the Research Center to Level 2 first. The research takes 120 seconds at the authored base duration.
Build and road-connect the Western Grid Station
The station is included in the land transfer, with no separate purchase price. Place it along the western farm boundary and connect its access marker to the base road network.
Reach at least 100 MW of installed generation
Add or upgrade generation until the mission shows 100 MW. Solar and wind contribute capacity; batteries provide storage and do not replace this generation target. This is not a requirement to export 100 MW of surplus.
Fund and commission the Western Grid Connection
Once the previous requirements are met, pay $1.25 million for the connection. Allow the four-minute cable, protection and metering sequence to finish. The chapter closes when the connection is energized, not when payment is made.

Check its road access, the 100 MW installed-generation target and the $1.25 million funding requirement.

Read the mission’s installed-capacity figure. The chapter’s threshold is distinct from instantaneous operating output or net surplus.
Do I need a harbor to complete Chapter 5?
